Jobsite-First IT for Builders & AEC
Carolinas construction firms. Trailer-to-office connectivity.
Netsafe Solutions provides IT services for Charlotte construction and AEC firms — jobsite connectivity, M365 collaboration, endpoint security, and mobile device management.
Netsafe Solutions provides IT services for construction companies, general contractors, subcontractors, and AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) firms across the Charlotte metro from our office at 8510 McAlpine Park Drive, Suite 203. We manage the IT infrastructure that construction businesses depend on — Microsoft 365 for project collaboration, endpoint security on office and field devices with SentinelOne EDR and Black Point Cyber SOC, mobile device management through Microsoft Intune, and jobsite connectivity with Ubiquiti wireless equipment. We don't touch construction-specific platforms like Procore, PlanGrid, or Bluebeam directly — we manage the IT environment around them and coordinate with those vendors for platform-specific work. Pricing is per-device monthly for support, with each security tool priced individually on a month-to-month basis. No onboarding fee.
Why Construction IT Is Different
Construction companies don't operate like a typical office business. Half your team is in the field rotating between jobsites that change every few months. Devices get dropped, stolen, and exposed to dust and weather. Employees share tablets on jobsites. Subcontractors need temporary access to project files without getting into your financials. And the office staff managing bids, payroll, and accounts receivable needs the same security as a law firm — because that data is just as sensitive.
The reality for Charlotte construction firms: The construction industry saw a 196% increase in cyberattacks between 2021 and 2023 according to Nordlocker research. Ransomware groups target construction because firms often have weak IT security, can't afford extended downtime during active projects, and handle large wire transfers that make business email compromise (BEC) profitable. A single BEC attack redirecting a subcontractor payment can cost tens of thousands of dollars — and construction firms are sued over it regularly.
Netsafe Solutions has supported construction and building materials businesses in Charlotte. We understand the split between office IT and field IT, the need for mobile device management on shared jobsite tablets, and the importance of securing the financial side of the business where wire transfers and bid documents live.
What Netsafe Solutions Provides for Construction Companies
Microsoft 365 for Project Collaboration
Construction runs on document sharing — plans, specs, RFIs, change orders, submittals, and daily reports flowing between the office, jobsites, and subcontractors. Microsoft 365 is the collaboration backbone:
- SharePoint and OneDrive — centralized document storage replacing USB drives and email attachments. Version history prevents the "which version is current?" problem on shared plan sets.
- Teams — real-time communication between office and field, channels per project or jobsite, video calls with subcontractors and architects
- External sharing controls — share specific folders with subcontractors and architects without giving them access to your entire document library. Time-limited sharing links expire automatically.
- Microsoft Entra ID — identity management with Conditional Access policies: block logins from untrusted locations, require MFA for all users, enforce device compliance before granting access to project files
- Intune mobile device management — enforce security policies on company phones and tablets used in the field, including remote wipe if a device is lost on a jobsite
Endpoint Security for Office & Field
Every device in a construction company — office workstations running estimating software, project managers' laptops, field tablets, and mobile phones — needs the same managed security stack:
- SentinelOne EDR — endpoint detection and response catching ransomware, credential theft, and lateral movement. Runs on office and field devices alike.
- Black Point Cyber SOC — 24/7 human-led managed detection and response. Endpoint monitoring with 16-minute average response time and M365 tenant monitoring with 7-minute average response time for account takeover detection.
- Checkpoint Harmony — email security protecting against phishing and BEC. Construction firms are high-value BEC targets because of wire transfer volume.
- DefensX — DNS filtering blocking malicious websites on managed devices, including field tablets that connect to jobsite WiFi or cellular networks.
- NinjaOne RMM — remote monitoring, patch management, and software deployment across all devices. Field devices patched on the same schedule as office workstations.
Jobsite Connectivity
Construction jobsites need internet access for plan viewing, daily reporting, camera systems, and communication — but connectivity options are limited:
- Temporary WiFi — Ubiquiti access points deployed at jobsites for the duration of the project. Pre-configured, VLAN-segmented (workers vs. cameras vs. guest), and managed through the same UniFi controller as your office network. See Wireless Networking.
- Cellular failover — for jobsites without wired internet, LTE/5G failover gateways provide connectivity until permanent service is available
- Jobsite camera systems — Ubiquiti UniFi Protect cameras for site security, progress documentation, and theft deterrence. PoE-powered, weather-rated, recorded to a local NVR. See Security Cameras.
Wire Transfer & Financial Security
Construction firms move large sums via wire transfer — progress payments, subcontractor payments, material orders. This makes the financial side of the business a prime target:
- BEC protection — Checkpoint Harmony and Black Point Cyber SOC M365 monitoring specifically detect business email compromise: payment redirect requests, spoofed vendor emails, and compromised mailboxes forwarding invoices to attackers
- Conditional Access — financial staff accounts hardened with phishing-resistant MFA, device compliance requirements, and named-location policies (can't access financials from an unrecognized device or location)
- DLP policies — Data Loss Prevention rules that flag outbound emails containing bank account numbers, routing numbers, or wire instructions when sent to external recipients

Why Charlotte Construction Companies Choose Netsafe
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Netsafe support construction-specific software like Procore or Sage?
We manage the IT infrastructure that construction platforms run on — the devices, network, M365 environment, security, and connectivity. For platform-specific configuration, migrations, or troubleshooting within Procore, Sage, PlanGrid, or estimating software, we coordinate with the software vendor on your behalf. You get one point of contact (Netsafe) and we manage the vendor relationship.
Can you set up temporary WiFi at our jobsites?
Yes. We deploy Ubiquiti UniFi access points at jobsites, pre-configured with VLAN segmentation (workers, cameras, guest), and manage them through the same controller as your office network. Equipment is reusable — when the project ends, we redeploy the gear to your next site. See Wireless Networking.
How do you secure tablets and phones used in the field?
Microsoft Intune mobile device management enforces security policies on all managed devices — PIN requirements, encryption, app restrictions, remote wipe capability. If a jobsite tablet is lost or stolen, we can wipe it remotely within minutes. Conditional Access policies ensure the device must be compliant before it can access SharePoint, Teams, or email.
What if we have employees who aren't tech-savvy?
Many of our clients have field staff who aren't comfortable with technology. Our helpdesk handles support calls with patience, plain language, and step-by-step guidance. 98% of issues are resolved remotely — field workers call in, we fix the problem over the phone or through remote access, and they're back to work.
How does Netsafe protect against wire transfer fraud?
Business email compromise targeting wire transfers is our top security concern for construction clients. Our stack addresses it at three layers: Checkpoint Harmony catches spoofed emails before they reach the inbox, Black Point Cyber SOC monitors your M365 tenant for compromised accounts and suspicious forwarding rules, and Conditional Access policies restrict financial staff accounts to compliant devices and trusted locations. We also recommend (and help implement) out-of-band verification procedures for wire transfer requests.
Can you install security cameras at our jobsites?
Yes. We deploy Ubiquiti UniFi Protect cameras at jobsites for theft deterrence, progress documentation, and site security. PoE-powered, weather-rated, with local NVR recording and remote viewing through the UniFi Protect app. See Security Cameras.
Do you support multiple office locations?
Yes. Many construction firms have a main office plus satellite offices or yard facilities. We manage all locations under one agreement with centralized monitoring through NinjaOne, consistent security policies, and site-to-site connectivity where needed.
